A fantastic experience, truly a highlight of our vacation! ... We are a family that hikes often and never have hired a guide. It was a great choice to enhance our experience.

My family of 12 and I went on this excursion with Dan and had an amazing time. Dan was super personal, very knowledgeable, willing to answer all of our questions and to go at a pace that worked for everyone ranging in ages from 7 to 74. ... I would highly recommend this excursion to anyone looking for a few hours of peaceful, interesting outdoor time that is sure to become a positive memory of such a beautiful area of NC.

Great experience. Dan was a great guide. Everything went smooth. It was a easy drive to a moderate hike to a great location. On the way in Dan shared his knowledge of local plants, animals and history. At the end of the trail we came to a beautiful waterfall and did some swimming and fishing. My wife, my 9-year-old daughter, and myself all had a great time. We highly recommend this experience.

Dan killed it for our trip to the waterfall! Super easy terrain, magical waterfall, fishing and great memories made. If you have the chance to book a trip with Dan do it!!! You will have a awesome time!

Dan is very knowledgeable about the area, and offered a great mix of educational information and recreation. The hike to the waterfall has very diverse terrain and Dan made sure everyone was comfortable with the pace. The waterfall is pure magic! You can swim, relax by the water, take pics and enjoy a great lunch (provided by Dan). Highly recommended!

We did a great hike with our 4.5 & 6.5 year old girls to the waterfall. I’m glad we went on the guided hike with Dan. We absolutely would not have wanted to go without him for safety / getting lost reasons. It was fun and a little challenging for us but not too hard. Lunch was great and the waterfall was beautiful.

Was a great way to do a hike! Learned about the plants and bugs in an interesting way, kept the kids engaged, and allowed us to do a hike we never would have managed to find or follow on our own.

This was one of the best experiences and far exceeded my expectations! ... The added educational experience combined with the beauty of the hike was WELL worth it! The falls were absolutely gorgeous and the added bonus of not having to pack lunches for my 5 kids was a huge blessing! I would highly recommend this experience and would book again in a heart beat! One word describes today’s experience - awesome. ... Throughout the hike, Dan provided great detail about everything from mushrooms to trees and fish. This experience is a must if you are visiting the Asheville area. Be prepared to have fun and learn a lot.

My two children, 11 and 13, and I had a wonderful time. Dan is so knowledgeable and we learned so much. The waterfall was awesome, the water refreshing, Dan even brought fishing poles for those who wanted to fish. SO much fun!. I highly recommend Dan and his tour to anyone heading this way and we'll be back for another hike. Great experience all around.

Dan led a great hike. He was able to keep our 8- and 10-year-old boys engaged, excited and stay adventurous was a huge plus. Highly recommend for anyone, especially if you are traveling with kids.

This was a unique experience. The setting alongside a creek complete with a 30-foot waterfall and swimming hole was stunning. What made it more extraordinary was Dan’s encyclopedic knowledge of the local flora and fauna, as well as his detailed understanding of the history of the area. He took great care to spend time with every guest, from age 5 to 70. ... I cannot recommend highly enough, particularly if you have children.

Our experience with Dan was nothing short of AMAZING! He is very knowledgeable the history of the area and the different types of vegetation, what to survive off of and what not to touch. He personalized the hike and made us feel very comfortable. This experience is worth every penny spent on it. He ensured we were prepared by providing a lunch and snack for everyone. If I were to do it again I would select Dan and do it all over again!!
